Resolution is only part of the picture
720p and 1080p describe different picture resolutions; 1080p is commonly called Full HD. Consumer 4K typically provides more pixels again. The source image, compression and display settings also affect the result. A high-resolution poster or a film released recently does not establish that every viewing edition is offered in 4K.
Check the selected offer
Use the title page to find the production, then inspect quality on the chosen service. The supported resolution may depend on its plan, app, browser and hardware. Confirm the edition on the actual screen you plan to use, especially if you are moving from a phone to a Smart TV.
Choose stability when the connection varies
If supported, automatic quality can adapt during playback. For repeated pauses, try a lower setting and test the same scene. Avoid diagnosing every brief drop in sharpness as the wrong movie file. For dark scenes, check brightness and picture mode without assuming a resolution change will fix them.
